Linh has a few hours of down time before she has to get back to the
airport to pick up a connecting flight to LAX where she will work the
Asian route for the next week. She arrives home and discovers
at the front door that she doesn't have her house keys with her. Sure
that she can find a way in, she starts making her way to the back of the
house, but on the way she encounters a man whom she does
not know and who should not be there. He seems annoyed that she has
arrived home unexpectedly. The picture fades and when it returns, Linh
in tied to a chair and cleave gagged. It is clear that she
has missed her connecting flight, but why is she being held prisoner.
When the man comes to ungag her and offer her something to drink, she
tells him that the ropes are too tight, that they are
hurting, but he refuses to loosen the ropes. When the encounter is done,
he re-gags Linh and leaves her alone. Realizing that no one is going to
help her, Linh starts struggling in earnest to free
herself. In her efforts, she manages to tip her chair over. Lying on the
floor still tied up, she is even more uncomfortable, but at least the
fall seems to have loosened several of the ropes, just a
little but maybe enough. She starts to make progress, wriggling one leg
free and then one hand. She ungags herself and is about to finish
untying herself when she hears her captor returning. She
frantically tries to get out of the remaining ropes but it is too late.
He is there, and now he will just tie her up again.
